The 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet Rundown
Last night the 2012 CFDA Awards took place in New York City. The awards show is the Oscars of fashion bringing out the biggest designers, magazine editors, retail buyers, celebrities and top models. Last night’s red carpet showdown took place between Zoe Saldana, dressed in a figure-flattering, lazer cut Prabal Garung gown with sheer detail and Julianne Hough, dressed in a ravishing red, front-plunging Kaufman Franco gown– lets just say that heads were turning all night long on these two vixens!
There were many more starlets in attendance who were also sexier than ever including Victoria’s Secret models Candice Swanepoel and Doutzen Kroes, supermodel Joan Smalls, Kate Bosworth showing a little side action, or what about Sophia Bush and Hilary Rhoda who were certainly not playing with the side slits and bust action. In any event, there were many awards given out for the many outstanding achievements well-deserved from Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen who walked away with the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award, Billy Reid for Menswear Designer of the Year and Reed Krakoff for Accessories Designer of the Year. Recipients of the Swarovski Awards for Emerging Talent were British shoe designer Tabitha Simmons for accessories, Phillip Lim for menswear and Joseph Altuzarra for womenswear, Scott Schuman and Garance Doré picked up the Media Award, Andrew Rosen, the CEO of Theory and Helmut Lang, was honoured with the Founders Award and Tommy Hilfiger received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
