Nasty Gal, the global e-tailer for fashion-forward girls, will debut SUPER NASTY during SS13 New York Fashion Week this September.
SUPER NASTY is a biannual print magazine inspired by the spirit of the Nasty Gal brand and is dedicated to showcasing innovative talent in photography, music, art, and design. The inaugural issue will showcase the brand’s celebration of those across the globe who share Nasty Gal’s love of cultural history, personal style and impeccable imagery.
“We are living in a world where decades of influence are alive all at once. SUPER NASTY celebrates both past and future spirits,” says Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso. “We are thrilled to breathe life into the physical manifestation of this brand – both in print and in fiber.” Among the photographers for SUPER NASTY’s first issue are Terry Richardson, Hugh Lippe, Jeff Hahn, Viktor Vauthier and Eliot Lee Hazel. Contributors include Liz Armstrong, Pamela des Barres, Alexandra Richards, Syd tha Kyd, and Langley Hemingway to name a few.
The full color printed issues will be a limited edition, collectable piece with an accompanying innovative online version. SUPER NASTY’s debut will be celebrated with an event during September’s New York Fashion Week and will coincide with the launch of Nasty Gal FW12 Collection.
To celebrate the announcement of SUPER NASTY, Nasty Gal is launching an Instagram contest on July 26th that will give 15 of their loyal fans a chance to be included in the debut issue. Participants are required to follow these three steps: follow @NastyGal on Instagram, take an original, fashion inspired Instagram photo (think anything you’d want to tear out of a magazine), and upload the photo with hashtag #supernasty and post. The winners will be announced on August 1st on the Nasty Gal blog and the 15 images will be featured in a SUPER NASTY spread. Visit here for full details: http://nsty.gl/9
