Dark and Lovely®, the premiere hair care brand for women of color and Harlem’s Fashion Row,the unique organization dedicated to increase opportunities for emerging designers of color, was named the exclusive backstage hair sponsor at the Fashion Bloggers Breakfast and the annual HFR Runway Show.
These landmark events brought together celebrities, style icons and trendsetters for the unveiling of the 2012 Dark and Lovely Fashionista Winner as well as emerging designers’ collection.
Kicking off Fashion Week, the Bloggers Breakfast gathered some of the most stylish, fashion-forward bloggers and industry leaders for a conversation on beauty and fashion, discussing hot spring trends. It included a panel discussion, featuring Keith Campbell, Celebrity Hairstylist; and Corynne Corbett, ESSENCE Magazine Beauty Director. Bloggers had a chance to preview exclusive pieces from designers Omar Salam, Latisha Daring, Joseph Bethune and Nzingha Knight including a gorgeous cheer coat dress that belongs in the windows at Saks Fifth Avenue.
We had the opportunity to catch up with celebrity hairstylist Keith Campbell and find out his secret to healthy hair. The key is to keep your hair clean and moisturized with light weight products that won’t weigh your hair down. Conditioning and treatments should be done weekly and ends should be clipped every three months.
