EILEEN FISHER, known for its beautiful womens clothing, is seeking applications from 100 percent women-owned businesses for its 8th Annual Business Grant Program for Woman Entrepreneurs.  The program looks for organizations that are innovative and foster environmental and economic health in their communities.  Up to five grants of $12,500 will be awarded. Grant recipients will be flown to New York City for a two-day conference with past business grant recipients and EILEEN FISHER teams in early 2013.
Designer Eileen Fisher is a long-time advocate of supporting businesses that are working to create a positive impact in the world. “I’m so inspired by the amazing ways a business, as a community of people, can make a positive difference—on a large scale and, maybe even more importantly, on a small scale,” says Fisher. “By making healthy choices, companies can be models for creating new approaches to working together on initiatives that are deeply important.”

The EILEEN FISHER Business Grant Program for Woman Entrepreneurs was launched in 2004 with a single grant of $20,000 to commemorate the company’s 20th anniversary. Since then, up to five grants have been awarded each year to 100 percent women-owned businesses that combine the principles of social consciousness, sustainability and innovation to create new businesses or invigorate existing ones. Only for-profit businesses or for-profit/ nonprofit hybrids (social enterprises) will be considered for this grant. Applications for the 2012 Women-Owned Business Program will be accepted until 11:59pm EST on May 15, 2012.
