Celeb manicurist and owner of the #1 spa boutique in Hoboken, NJ, Skyy Hadley, stresses the importance ofmoisturizing your hands daily with a body butter which will penetrate deeper into your skin than regular body or hand lotion. Product with sheabutter as a main ingredient is always a plus. Skyy pampers her clients with her signature Milk-Me-Away warm milk manicures and pedicures. The warm milk soak is a great way to re-moisturize your hands and feet during dry winter months and the sugar scrub that follows is a great way to remove the extra dead skin. Sweet almond shea butter lotion is then deeply massaged into the skin to lock in the moisture. This can be done at home by mixing a few cups of warm whole milk in a bowl with vanilla essential oil (a few pumps of a moisturizing vanilla soap will do the trick if you don’t have oil) followed by an exfoliating scrub to remove the dead skin and applying a shea butter lotion or cream to lock in moisture.  I suggest the Bliss Body Buff because it’s an exfoliator that softens with shea butter and sweet almond oil!

Q: What would you deem as this season’s must have fashion accessory?

AA

A: Summer – a sick pair of sunglasses.  Fall – a warm, lush scarf.

TFR

Q: Who are some of your favorite up and coming designers?

AA
A: Melanie Fraser Hart and William Calvert of Callula Lillibelle are my favorite upcoming designers.

TFR
Q: What was your most challenging fashion moment?

AA
A: As an eleven year fashion veteran, my most challenging fashion moment was surviving the decline of the music industry, followed by the economic recession.  In addition to, the over saturation of fashion stylists.  I have solutions for all three and I will continue to successfully display them.

Q: How do you feel about NYFW’s move to Lincoln Center?

AA

A: I loved NYFW at Bryant Park.  However, change is good.  I haven’t fully experienced NYFW at Lincoln Center, as of yet.  The past two seasons I was working on other high profile projects during fashion week.

Q: What is your favorite :Look for Less” store/boutique?

AA

A: My favorite look for less store for both men and women is Top Shop.  I love that store.

TFR

Q: What style advice can you share for curvy girls looking to achieve a look most seen on slimmer girls?

AA

A: Every look isn’t for everyone, no matter how small or big, one may be.  One should know their body type, what they will feel comfortable wearing and not wearing, what will compliment their personality and most importantly, shape wear, such as Spanx, is their BFF.

TFR

Q: How do you feel about this new skinny jeans color trend on men? Is it for everyone?

AA

A: To reiterate, every look isn’t for everyone.  Skinny jeans for men, isn’t a favorite look of mine.  In my opinion, it works best for skater dudes, bikers, rockers and the like.  Colorful jeans for men??? From boys to 21/22.  After that, pass on the trend.

Q: As you may know, older women still shop in the Juniors dept for younger/sexier styles. What is an age appropriate look for a 40 year old versus a 20 year old?

AA

A: An age appropriate look for a 40 year old woman is a nice, crisp, white dress shirt and a knee length skirt.  Classic and chic.  For more sexiness, unbutton the shirt to show a hint of black lace bra or no bra, if breasts are still like in the 20′s. :) The knee length skirt can have a high center front or side front split or high center back or side back split to expose more leg.  For extra sexiness, add red lipstick to the look.
