Looks like another one bites the dust according to WWD, who reported that Ivanka Trump has allegedly knocked of Derek Lam’s shoes. “Though she’s only been in the shoe game a couple of years, Ivanka Trump has made a mark for herself with a fresh footwear line and jewelry collection. “We have seen very similar copies before but we have never seen a shoe that perfectly copied,” Jan-Hendrik Schlottmann, chief executive officer of Derek Lam, told WWD. The shoe in question, a $150 Cadie wedge from the Ivanka Trump Footwear Collection, is said to be knock-off of Lam’s $780 “Ayami” design. The designer has reportedly given Trump seven business days to pull the shoe off the market or else, she will find herself in court telling it all to the judge.
Rihanna has partnered with and the Emporio Armani/Armani Jeans for her very own collection under the multi-million dollar label. The line features everything from graphic tees, sexy lingerie and rocker inspired denim, all true to Rihanna’s own personal sense of style (when she’s not in costume, that is). Rihanna fans can look forward to offerings from two styles of jeans in a tight boyfriend fit and skinny leg; a leather biker jacket; a canvas bag and two T-shirts – one emblazoned with an illustration of the 23-year-old, the other featuring Rihanna’s “R” logo. A belt, similar to the bandana headband that she wore during her X Factor performance last weekend will also be featured in the collection. With the holidays just around the corner, Rihanna for Armani Jeans makes the perfect gift item for that special someone.
Burlesque star, Dita Von Teese, will be unveiling her new line of lingerie, titled Von Follies by Dita Von Teese, in February 2012 via Target Australia stores. The new lingerie line will feature luxurious vintage inspired garments and includes many of her favourites such as high waisted panties and overwire bras. After the Australian launch, lingerie will become available worldwide. One thing’s for sure and knowing Von Teese’s on-stage attire, the lingerie may be the reason for an increase in baby and love making.
S IMON SPURR’S MALE HAUTENESS
Simon Spurr, debuted his first runway show after several successful seasons of menswear presentations during New York Fashion Week. He debuted his new high-end tailored collection SIMON SPURR. “I am English and my brand is decidedly American. I really wanted to establish my British roots and deliver something modern and elegant into American fashion week” said Simon Spurr. The show was attended by Milo Ventimiglia (NBC’s Heroes), Anna Wintour, Robert Verdi, and Arden Wohl. The collection featured diversity with looks suitable for every man from corporate professional to school boy. The collection paid very close attention to detail and distinguishes itself from other designers such as Gianfranco Ferre, Tom Ford and Salvatore Ferragamo because it paints a picture of a modern man with classic and timeless style who isn’t afraid to take risks by adding a dash of color or mixing fabrics and textures. Color tends to symbolize confidence and some of the looks the collection showcases, exude nothing short of that.
